Ab Blues scale on the guitar fretboard
The Ab Blues scale is made of Ab (the root), Cb (minor third), Db (perfect fourth), D (augmented fourth), Eb (perfect fifth) and Gb (minor seventh). The fretboard shows every one of them across the neck in standard tuning (E A D G B E), and plays them back so you can hear the scale.
The blues scale listed here has six notes, with a raised fourth between the fourth and the fifth. The map shows how that one extra note joins the minor pentatonic shapes on the neck. It is a close relative of the minor pentatonic.
