A Blues scale on the guitar fretboard
The A Blues scale is made of A (the root), C (minor third), D (perfect fourth), D# (augmented fourth), E (perfect fifth) and G (minor seventh). The fretboard shows every one of them across the neck in standard tuning (E A D G B E), and plays them back so you can hear the scale.
The blues scale listed here has six notes, with a raised fourth between the fourth and the fifth. The map shows how that one extra note joins the minor pentatonic shapes on the neck. It is a close relative of the minor pentatonic.
