A Pentatonic Major scale on the guitar fretboard

The A Pentatonic Major scale is made of A (the root), B (major second), C# (major third), E (perfect fifth) and F# (major sixth). The fretboard shows every one of them across the neck in standard tuning (E A D G B E), and plays them back so you can hear the scale.

The major pentatonic scale has five notes, the root, a second, a third, a fifth and a sixth. It shares its notes with the minor pentatonic a minor third lower, so the same boxes serve both. It is a subset of the major scale with the fourth and seventh left out.
