B Pentatonic Major scale on the guitar fretboard
The B Pentatonic Major scale is made of B (the root), C# (major second), D# (major third), F# (perfect fifth) and G# (major sixth). The fretboard shows every one of them across the neck in standard tuning (E A D G B E), and plays them back so you can hear the scale.
The major pentatonic scale has five notes, the root, a second, a third, a fifth and a sixth. It shares its notes with the minor pentatonic a minor third lower, so the same boxes serve both. It is a subset of the major scale with the fourth and seventh left out.
