G Blues scale on the guitar fretboard
The G Blues scale is made of G (the root), Bb (minor third), C (perfect fourth), C# (augmented fourth), D (perfect fifth) and F (minor seventh). The fretboard shows every one of them across the neck in standard tuning (E A D G B E), and plays them back so you can hear the scale.
The blues scale listed here has six notes, with a raised fourth between the fourth and the fifth. The map shows how that one extra note joins the minor pentatonic shapes on the neck. It is a close relative of the minor pentatonic.
