Ab Harmonic Minor scale on the guitar fretboard
The Ab Harmonic Minor scale is made of Ab (the root), Bb (major second), Cb (minor third), Db (perfect fourth), Eb (perfect fifth), Fb (minor sixth) and G (major seventh). The fretboard shows every one of them across the neck in standard tuning (E A D G B E), and plays them back so you can hear the scale.
The harmonic minor scale is the natural minor with a raised seventh, which leaves a gap of three semitones between the sixth and seventh degrees. That gap is easy to spot on the neck as a wider step. It sits between the natural minor and the melodic minor scale.
