D Harmonic Minor scale on the guitar fretboard

The D Harmonic Minor scale is made of D (the root), E (major second), F (minor third), G (perfect fourth), A (perfect fifth), Bb (minor sixth) and C# (major seventh). The fretboard shows every one of them across the neck in standard tuning (E A D G B E), and plays them back so you can hear the scale.

The harmonic minor scale is the natural minor with a raised seventh, which leaves a gap of three semitones between the sixth and seventh degrees. That gap is easy to spot on the neck as a wider step. It sits between the natural minor and the melodic minor scale.
