Ab Pentatonic Minor scale on the guitar fretboard
The Ab Pentatonic Minor scale is made of Ab (the root), Cb (minor third), Db (perfect fourth), Eb (perfect fifth) and Gb (minor seventh). The fretboard shows every one of them across the neck in standard tuning (E A D G B E), and plays them back so you can hear the scale.
The minor pentatonic scale has five notes, the root, a minor third, a fourth, a fifth and a minor seventh. It is a subset of the natural minor, so its shapes sit inside the larger scale on the neck. Add a flat five and you reach the blues scale.
