F Minor Seventh chord (Fm7) on the guitar fretboard

The F Minor Seventh chord (Fm7) is made of F (the root), Ab (minor third), C (perfect fifth) and Eb (minor seventh). The fretboard shows every one of them across the neck in standard tuning (E A D G B E), and plays them back so you can hear the chord.

The minor seventh is the minor triad with a minor seventh added, four notes in all. Because it contains the notes of a major chord a minor third higher, the two shapes overlap on the neck. It is a close cousin of the half diminished chord, which differs only by a flattened fifth.
