Bb Augmented chord (Bbaug) on the guitar fretboard

The Bb Augmented chord (Bbaug) is made of Bb (the root), D (major third) and F# (augmented fifth). The fretboard shows every one of them across the neck in standard tuning (E A D G B E), and plays them back so you can hear the chord.

The augmented triad stacks two major thirds, so its three notes divide the octave evenly. That symmetry means the same shape recurs along the neck, and it can be named from any of its three notes. It sits one semitone away from the major triad, with a raised fifth.
